Since June 8, 2026, domain name registrants have been receiving notification emails directly from RU-CENTER containing an exclusive verification link. Via this link, the domain administrator can complete identity verification without logging into the RU-CENTER personal account.

Please note the following requirements:

• Domain verification must be completed by the domain registrant in person

• Verification must be performed using a Gosuslugi      account whose information matches that of the domain registrant (individual or legal entity)

• The procedure must be completed via the exclusive personalized link provided in the email

Important notes:

• Each customer agreement (account) requires separate verification, even if they belong to the same individual or organization

• RU-CENTER only obtains the information necessary for identity verification and does not access the user's full Gosuslugi account

Verification steps:

Step 1
The registrant will receive an email from RU-CENTER containing a unique verification link

Step 2
Open the link and click "Complete Identification"

Step 3
Log in to your Gosuslugi account:

• Individual / sole proprietor → use a personal account

• Company / legal entity → use an employee account linked to the company

Step 4
Authorize the system to access the required verification information

Verification results:

• Information matches → verification successful

• Minor discrepancies → RU-CENTER performs a manual review

• Serious mismatches → please contact [email protected]

Verification result notification:

The verification result will be sent by email to the registrant's contact email address.

Please note: if identity verification is not successfully completed, operations on the relevant domain names will be restricted starting from September 1, 2026.

Non-residents of Russia:

Overseas registrants can also complete the verification process.

The steps are as follows:

• Create a Gosuslugi account (registration guide: https://www.gosuslugi.ru/help/faq/login/0006)

• Complete account verification

• Complete identity verification following the procedure described above

To avoid interruption of domain services, we strongly recommend completing the verification procedure as soon as possible after receiving the notification email.

Appendix:

Starting from September 1, 2026, all .ru and com.ru domain registrants (both individuals and businesses) will be required to complete identity verification via Gosuslugi (the Unified Identification and Authentication System, ESIA).

Main requirements:

• Applies to both new and existing registrants

• Both individuals and businesses must complete verification

• A verified Gosuslugi account is required

• Applies to .ru and com.ru domain extensions

Restrictions if verification is not completed:

If identity verification is not completed, the following operations will not be possible:

• Registering new domain names

• Renewing existing domain names

• Modifying DNS servers

• Updating registrant information

Consequences of non-compliance:

After the current registration period expires, the domain name will:

• Enter the "pending renewal" status

• Subsequently become available for registration again
